OOMCO, Oman’s leading fuel marketing company, has been recognised by the Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) for transforming Oman’s Electric Vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem and accelerating the national adoption of green technologies. Electrical Vehicles One (EVO), a company established by OOMCO and Synergy Investment in 2023, was awarded gold in the eco-mobility category at the annual event focusing on reducing emissions and improving environmental impact.
EVO provides Oman’s first-of-its-kind and largest interconnected network of currently 84 EV chargers that spans from the border of the United Arab Emirates to Salalah. It also includes a mobile app that serves as an integrated payment platform and EV charger locator. As a result, EVO removes charging as an obstacle to drivers purchasing an electric vehicle and delivers a seamless usage experience while reducing their carbon emissions.
Highlighting OOMCO’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, EVO made a perfect fit for visitors to the OSW, a national platform hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The annual event aims to accelerate the development of energy, power, water, waste treatment, and environment strategies across Oman and is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and Oman Vision 2040, including reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. Driving visitors to the future of automobility in Oman, OOMCO’s comprehensive showcase of EVO at OSW featured an EV, a functional EV charger, a hydrogen dispenser, and a co-combustion truck.
EVO is not just considered a company by OOMCO but a movement as the real winners of electric vehicles are both drivers and Planet Earth. Meeting the requirements of the ever-evolving EV market that will soon be going from strength to strength, EVO’s cutting-edge charging solutions provide a seamless driver experience. Through EVO, OOMCO aims to facilitate the national adoption of green technologies, including green mobility initiatives, in Oman to contribute to a healthier planet for generations to come while upholding the highest safety standards.
