In a bid to raise awareness on the importance of implementing precautionary measures at filling stations, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) launched a new safety campaign called ‘Rehla’, meaning journey. Reaching out to the large number of tourists in Salalah this Khareef, dedicated omanoil staff in collaboration with a group from Salalah Jeepers, toured high footfall locations distributing leaflets and providing advice on how to best stay safe while filling their cars.
Throughout the campaign, omanoil’s ambassadors visited tourist locations including Sahalnoot, Darbat, Al Mughsayl, Aftelqoot and the Salalah Tourism Festival grounds. The team also inspected 10 filling stations throughout the Governorate to encourage prudence at the pump and ensure the company’s stringent HSE regulations are implemented
Mohammed Hassan Al Moujaini, omanoil’s Senior Manager of Health, safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) said, “omanoil is more than just a service provider, we are proud members of the community and this campaign highlights our commitment to greatly reduce the amount of filling station accidents within the Sultanate. Customers need to feel secure at the pump and ‘Rehla’ was designed to ensure that happens. As Dhofar is presently experiencing a spike in visitors, it was integral that we launched our campaign to ensure the message of filling station safety reaches as many as possible.”
He added: “Raising awareness is the first step in maintaining an all-encompassing safety that will protect everyone throughout the year and kick-start a culture of awareness in Oman. Our care for the community and the Sultanate’s guests goes beyond providing filling stations that adhere to the highest safety standards and Rehla is yet another expression of that fact.”
Rehla Campaign is a testament to omanoil’s dedication that far beyond the company walls to instill a culture of awareness and safety. Over the years the company has successfully conducted nationwide campaigns that have helped thousands of people stay safe while filling.
