An avid supporter of national efforts that aim to improve people’s lives, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has partnered with the National Committee for Narcotics & Psychotropic Substances for their week-long awareness campaign on drug abuse. On the occasion of ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’, the nation-wide campaign sheds light on the dangers of drugs to both users and communities while instilling principles that make up the fabric of social development.
Omanoil has made its mark as a home grown establishment committed to going beyond its core business by initiating and supporting programs that benefit the wider community. Providing more than fuel, the company works hand-in-hand with local authorities towards safeguarding the next generation’s future.
Drug users do not only victimize themselves but their families and friends and omanoil is supporting this campaign as it empowers people to take responsibility and be accountable for their decisions, while guiding them towards making informed and educated life choices. Through the partnership with the Committee, omanoil is getting the message of hope across to its customers that drug use disorders are both preventable and treatable, and also encouraging them to become agents of change and address issues that afflict Oman’s communities.
The National Committee for Narcotics & Psychotropic Substances is exploring methods to combat drug abuse, measures to take against traffickers and the treatment and rehabilitation of users. Successfully demonstrating exemplary public and private sector collaboration, the campaign will run throughout the Sultanate for a period of one week. A model corporate citizen, omanoil is contributing to this cause by disseminating information and raising public awareness on the many dangers associated with drug abuse.
