Muscat, March 18th 2012 – Translating its commitment to youth engagement and development into action, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has teamed up with the Ministry of Education to sponsor a youth football competition, the omanoil Football Tournament for Muscat Schools. Running until the 1st of April, the tournament will witness over 480 talented football enthusiasts aged five to ten, from both government and private schools across Muscat battle through group stages to be crowned champions.
"Winning is not the be all and end all. We believe that the tournament provides a driven yet supportive environment for youths to unleash their potential, enhance their skills set and build character in their formative years, which can be applied both on and off the field," said omanoil CEO, Eng. Omar bin Ahmed Qatan.
Sponsoring the tournament is part of omanoil\'s ongoing efforts to expose and cultivate young Omani talent through a multitude of professional football disciplines and levels.
Matches are currently underway at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex and will conclude with a final match followed by an award ceremony where omanoil\'s CEO will present winners with trophies, medals and other prizes.
