Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) has signed an Aviation Fuel Agreement with Etihad Airways, the world\'s leading airline, to become the carrier\'s sole provider in the Sultanate which flies to 84 destinations across the globe. The company will supply jet fuel to the entire fleet of aircrafts landing in Muscat International Airport and extend state-of-the-art technical, logistical and engineering support.
"Signing this contract with a world-renowned carrier of this caliber reinforces our globally-recognized aviation expertise and capabilities," said Ahmad Kamel Mahmud, General Manager of Aviation and Marine Fuels at omanoil. "We remain committed to quality and efficiency in parallel to safety and security measurements of regulatory requirements, and have institutionalized a number of measures to control fuel quality at every stage of the supply chain, from the refinery to the plane."
Poised to become a prominent contender in the Aviation Fuel business, omanoil has greatly expanded its customer portfolio of major commercial airlines and key government accounts. omanoil has signed a number of exclusive contracts with leading global carriers such as British Airways, Swiss Air, Lufthansa, Thai Airways and Biman Bangladesh.
Ahmad explained that best-in-class customer experience is what differentiates omanoil in the marketplace. Engaging Air BP as its technical and commercial consultant further distinguishes omanoil\'s proficiency at maintaining international HSSE and quality standards through frequent training programs, bolstered by the advantages of BP\'s global strength.
With the country\'s heavy investment in tourism development, it is envisaged that the future\'s new Muscat International Airport will receive higher passenger and air traffic, resulting in greater aviation fuel demand for the company.
