With a dedicated workforce comprised of 130 highly qualified Omani nationals and an impressive Omanization rate of 87%, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) was recently recognized by the Ministry of Manpower at the 2010 Omanization Awards for its unrelenting efforts and visible steps towards actively training and recruiting Omani citizens throughout all levels of its organization. Maintaining the highest rate in the local fuel distribution and marketing industry, the prestigious Award highlighted omanoil’s outstanding track record of achievements towards the Omanization process over the years.
The announcement was made during a special ceremony that was organized by the Ministry of Manpower earlier last month to celebrate its close partnership with the private sector and honor a number of corporations who have reached the highest levels of Omanization in their respective industries. Companies who have showcased their dedication to the principles and guidelines of Omanization through comprehensive and effective training and qualification programs were also acknowledged during the ceremony.
Mohammed Al Barwani, General Manager of HR, Admin, IT and System Optimization at omanoil said, “Our uncompromising efforts towards reaching the highest percentage of Omanization in our industry have been recognized through this important Award, which demonstrates our deeply-rooted commitment to fulfilling His Majesty’s vision of establishing an empowered, indigenous and self-sufficient workforce as a fundamental component of national progression. At omanoil, Omanization goes above and beyond employing Omani citizens, as it transcends to unveiling hidden talents and providing them with adequate training and tangible advancement opportunities from entry-level to experienced professionals.”
He added, “From the onset, developing our human capital capacity and cadre of professionals who can compete on the global level has been an overarching priority in all areas of our business by presenting sector-specific competencies and a wide range of applied, scientific and creative skills in order to continually raise the standards of our performance.”
As a young, energetic and Omani organization that prides itself as a pioneer in the Sultanate’s energy sector and partner in the development of its infrastructure, omanoil continually seeks to bolster its existing workforce, as a key aspect of its long-term corporate objectives by recruiting additional Omani employees and becoming the preferred employer of choice.
