Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil), the leading fuel and lubricant marketing Company in the Sultanate, has recently purchased state-of -the-art automatic prime mover trucks from the prestigious Swedish car and truck manufacturer Scania Distributor SATA LLC, setting a national benchmark in safety, environment protection and operational innovation.
As an industry pioneer, omanoil is the first within the energy sector to introduce the new automatic and environmentally friendly fuel distribution technology in the Sultanate in efforts to enhance fuel distribution and transport efficiency, as well as significantly reducing fuel consumption levels.
On the occasion, Eng. Faisal Abdul Aziz Al Shanfari, General Manager of Operations, Engineering and HSE at omanoil said, “Our purchase of the automatic prime movers is part of our fuel retailing strategy that aims at achieving performance excellence, minimizing the environmental impact and maximizing our fuel distribution capabilities to meet the nation’s growing demands.”
He added, “With the largest owned fleet in the industry, , we are constantly acquiring new technology and identifying improved methods of fuel distribution keeping HSE as our number one priority.”
The new premium duty fuel delivery trucks are designed with the highest and most internationally recognized standards of distribution technology and operating economy, in addition to the highest criteria of health, safety and environment to face the growing challenges and hazards of fuel distribution.
The highly advanced Scania Opticruise system makes the vehicles ideal for long haul fuel distributions, as well as advanced mechanical options. The new vehicles are also ADR compliant, which is a European agreement signed by more than forty countries concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road.
omanoil has undertaken several efforts to which included supporting the Government’s decision to abandon leaded gasoline, the remediation system which was developed for environmental cleanup for the first time in the Sultanate and Gulf region, and the promotion of low sulphur diesel oil.
