The Oman Oil Football School’s Summer Indoor Tournament concluded with sportive harmony in an exclusive prize distribution ceremony under the patronage of Sheikh Salim Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Oil Marketing Company. The Tournament which witnessed the participation of more than 500 youth from across the Sultanate was organized by the nation’s visionary fuel and lubricants marketing company in cooperation with Muscat Football Club.
Held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Boushar, the ceremony recognized the achievements of the participants and awarded medals and trophies to the top three winning teams following an exciting final match. basmaCards were also awarded to the Muscat Football Club Committee members as a token of appreciation for their hard efforts towards the success of the Tournament.
On the occasion, Nabeel Al Ruwaidhi, General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Business Development & Planning at omanoil expressed, “Our first Summer Indoor Tournament was very well received and a success on all levels. It encouraged a vast numbers of youth from different regions of the Sultanate to come forward to channel their energy in a productive manner during the summer holiday period and learn new skills given the Tournament’s exciting competitive nature. Moreover, it instilled key disciplines that can be applied in daily life while providing a unique opportunity to forge new friendships.”
He added, “Capitalizing on the excellent reputation of our all year round Football School, we have managed to organize this innovative sub-tournament to diversify the School’s offerings and achieve our objective of providing youths with a platform for elevating their football capabilities and acquiring future leadership skills by forming and managing their own teams.”
Sheikh Khaled Al Wahaibi, President of Muscat Club added, “We are always keen on collaborating with omanoil, due to their commitment to exposing and nurturing young Omani talent. A number of outstanding students from both participating age categories have been identified for scholarships for the Oman Oil Football School, which will allow them to hone and elevate their skills further.”
The Summer Indoor Football Tournament, which was held at Muscat Club in Wadi Al Kabir, ran for over a month and consisted of two main categories for children and youths aged 11 to 17 years.
